GUARDED NETWORKS

Description: Boardroom Communications was retained by Guarded Networks in 2001. At the time it was one of only a handful of companies that designed, implemented and monitored computer network security systems, providing continuous protection. In the aftermath of September 11th, there was a new awareness and concerns about all facets of security, including network security and the prevention of cyber-terrorism.
Goal: Maximize media coverage of Guarded Networks' services by implementing a high profile public relations program, increasing name recognition, credibility and brand awareness for the company. Our targets included the South Florida media, general business publications, and banking/finance publications.
Success: Guarded Networks came to market at a time ripe for its network security services. Boardroom Communications successfully positioned Guarded Networks for stories on network security and cyberterrorism through the placement of guest columns about Internet security, inclusion in trend stories, company profile stories, and coverage of company announcements including contracts it received and financial announcements. Boardroom obtained coverage on the company -- which ultimately merged with Perimeter Internetwork -- in publications including the Sun-Sentinel, Miami Herald, South Florida Business Journal, Florida Trend and the ABA Banking Journal.
