Community Relations

Strong community involvement is good for society and brings a profit that goes beyond the all mighty dollar - it fortifies corporate status. Community relations is an integral part of building your company's reputation.

Giving back to the community is a great way to get the firm name out there, showing employees, investors, customers and clients and the community at-large you are a good corporate citizen.  Many think a company or firm has to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to make a splash.  Nothing could be further from the truth.  It's all about helping those in need, getting your people involved and finding opportunities to isolate your company with meaningful opportunities to give back and to be recognized for the commitment.

Boardroom works to enhance your company's image in the eyes of the community, customers, employees, investors and industry. We assist clients in identifying opportunities to give back to the community while reflecting well on their company's mission and corporate culture. Many of our clients leave it up to us to help them develop a winning program that maximizes the investment the company will make in terms of time, effort and financial resources.  The process goes like this:

-- Conduct a community relations audit of the company's current efforts to determine which organizations are being supported and the involvement level with the organization.

--Interview management and possibly employees to get their take on the current program and to seek recommendations.

--Research existing and potential new charities to discover opportunities.

--Analyze data and make recommendations.

--Help renegotiate existing relationships and hammer out plans with new ones.

--Create a budget.

--Determine what, if any, committee membership or board of director opportunities exist.

--Finalize community relations plans and create a calendar and step-by-step plan for the client.

--Manage the calendar and monitor progress, continually seeking out employee and management participation.

--Attend and offer pro-bono publicity services to targeted charities on behalf of client.

--Identify additional opportunities to build more relationships with selected charities and their networks of supporters.

--Look for photo-opportunities to publicize.

--Find ways to incorporate the company's community relations into all its branding efforts.

-- Promote the company's efforts online, with key contacts, and via the media.
