Don Silver

DON SILVER, Chief Operating Officer, brings 25-plus years of successful public relations and marketing management experience to the firm. He has extensive contacts with top-tier media and the Florida business, civic and not-for-profit communities. With public companies as clients, Don has experience in media relations, marketing, financial relations, crisis communications and public affairs.

Currently, he chairs the Executive Council for Legal Aid Services of Broward County/Collier County, is immediate past chairman of the South Florida City Group Chapter of the Legal Marketing Association (LMA) and was recently tapped by the National Association of Office and Industrial Properties (NAIOP) to join its board of directors as Vice President of Communications . He also handles public relations for the Enterprise Development Corporation (EDC), a public/private partnership specializing in providing strategic business development services to emerging science and technology companies, and is also an active mentor at the business incubator.

Over the years Don has held several board and advisory positions. He sat on the board of directors of the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI) and headed up the Communications and Program Committee. At Broward Partnership for the Homeless (BPHI), he was Chairman of the Marketing Committee and a member of the Board of Directors. In addition, he was Vice President of Communications and Program Co-Chairman of the Gold Coast Venture Capital Association (GCVCA). He also handled communications for the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) and the MIT Forum for many years. Don moderates media panels and frequently addresses organizations on topics dealing with media relations, crisis communications and marketing.

Prior to joining Boardroom, Don was a national sales manager at Forster Manufacturing, introducing five new product lines and helping the company gain national prominence in the sporting goods, hardware and craft markets. While at Forster, Don oversaw the company's Team Forster Bud Lite Pro Beach 4-woman Volleyball team, which reached the finals and received nine hours of coverage on ESPN. He also held management positions with Duracell, USA for more than a decade. A native of South Florida, Don received a B.B.A. in Marketing and Physical Distribution with a minor in Real Estate from Florida Atlantic University.

Don has been published extensively in local newspapers and in state and national trade journals. He is a frequent speaker on topics ranging from crisis management and public relations to marketing, new business development and community relations. Organizations include the Association of Fundraising Professionals (Tampa, Orlando and Fort Lauderdale chapters), Legal Marketing Association (Orlando, Tampa and Miami chapters), Association of Legal Administrators, Gold Coast Venture Capital Association, National Investor Relations Institute, Enterprise Development Corporation, National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP), Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW), the Florida Association of Airports, the Financial Planning Association, National Association of Women Business Owners, Public Relations Society of America, Gold Coast PR Council, Emerge Broward, Rotary, Lions Club, and others.
