Julie Silver Talenfeld

JULIE SILVER TALENFELD, Boardroom Communications' founder and president, enjoys a legacy of business innovation, client service and community involvement.

From the early days of her communications career, Julie sought to be the top resource for creative media and publicity. Julie began as an intern on CNN's national assignment desk in Washington, D.C. and as a writer and associate producer for its award-winning show, Crossfire. As a 22-year-old business reporter, she founded and produced the Florida Business Report, the first statewide business radio show, eventually syndicated on 30 stations. Julie later left to direct public relations for J.T. Moran Financial, a 20-office, $100 million New York investment banking firm.

By 25, Julie had launched Boardroom Communications to provide unparalleled media coverage to a wide scope of clients in the luxury real estate and retail, legal, banking, corporate and non-profit sectors. Today, the firm is one of Florida's leading PR agencies procuring major media results nationally and internationally.

The agency is a finalist for the South Florida Business Journal's Business of the Year and is listed as a Top-25 woman-owned business. This year Boardroom was named to the SFBJ’s Top 25 Corporate Giving list. In 2011 and 2012 Boardroom Communications was awarded a Silver Addy from the Advertising Federation of Greater Fort Lauderdale for campaigns for the Jewish Federation. In 2011, Julie received the University of Florida's Alumni of Distinction Award as well as the Advocacy Award from Legal Aid.

Boardroom Communications provides pro Bono PR services to Florida's Children First, the state's most influential child advocacy organization; Broward Legal Aid; and Margaux's Miracle Foundation. Julie and Boardroom were honored with the Jewish Adoption & Foster Care Options (JAFCO) Jacobs Ladder Award for its dedication to child advocacy.

Julie serves on the boards of Florida's Children First and has served on the gala committee for the South Florida Multiple Sclerosis Society's largest annual fundraiser. The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation named Julie and her husband, child advocacy attorney Howard Talenfeld, one of its 2008 South Florida's Finest Couples for their charitable involvement and success in the business community. Julie and Howard will be honored as "Community Champions" by the Deliver the Dream organization this year. The Talenfeld family also is the annual sponsor of the JAFCO Children's Village Chanukah Party.

A South Florida native, Julie attended Boston University and graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in Journalism.
