Mayte Padron
Mayte Padron Cordones, Multi Cultural Media Specialist
Mayte Padron, a Miami native, specializes in media relations for Spanish language and other multi cultural outlets. Mayte came to Boardroom from WPLG-TV Local 10 where she produced the station's award winning community outreach program called Magnum's Force. Using the power of television to unite those in need with those who have the means to help, Mayte coordinated the donation of more than $7 million in goods and services, which went to help more than 20,000 of our South Florida neighbors in need.
In February 2008, Mayte became the reporter for the program, which was renamed "Care Force." At the forefront of this initiative, she delivered reports on Local 10's Friday's 11PM newscast, noon and weekend morning newscasts.
Mayte began her broadcasting career working for WTVJ-NBC6 in Miami as an associate producer for the morning, noon, and weekend news shows. Mayte then moved on to WFOR-CBS4, where she produced numerous public affairs programs as the Communications Director for Neighbors 4 Neighbors.
Mayte's been instrumental in securing various awards for the news departments where she's worked, including the prestigious Paley Center Award, Service to America Award and Friend in Need Award from the National Association of Broadcasters. Mayte's also received an Emmy nomination for public affairs programming and several philanthropic awards from local organizations. In May 2008, Mayte was named Hispanic Woman of Distinction by Bank Atlantic and Latina Style Magazine. She sits on several nonprofit boards, including The Florida Breast Health Initiative and The Jessica June Children's Cancer Foundation.
Mayte Padron was born and raised in south Florida. She graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism and Political Science from the University of Miami.
